I had just finished college and started job searching when I visited
Ed2010. I saw several job whispers I was interested in and sent out my
resume immediately. Within a week I had five magazines call me, and I
got a job offer before I could even interview with them all. Thanks for

A victim of the dot com crash, I desperately needed my 'big break' back

I've had a regular reporting gig with Glamour for over a year now
because of a posting I saw on Ed2010 last winter! The freelance job
gives me extra cash on a regular basis, and I've gotten to know a few
editors by helping them research stories. Plus, I've built up a huge
store of quotable women who are great resources for future ideas.

I graduated from Medill (J-school at Northwestern) in December and my
classmates and I have had an awful time trying to find a great (or
not-so-great) mag job.

I just accepted an offer for an associate editor position at a mag in
Illinois that ran on your site before it hit the papers. It only took
about three weeks from the time I dropped off my resume to get the
final offer. I figured, if they were smart enough to run on Ed2010,
then they must be a pretty innovative, contemporary company. Just right
for me!

I had just moved back to LA after my May 2002 graduation and went to
the first ever LA Ed2010 cocktail party. I met a girl who was at Los
Angeles Magazine, a mag I adore. I was freelancing for Westways, a mag
she poured through. We switched contact info and now we're both
freelancing for both.

A few years ago, I moved to New York with my brand new English degree
and signed up at a temp agency—and Ed2010's daily news as soon as I got
my computer hooked up. Within three weeks, Ed's Whispers pointed me to
an editorial assistant job at an online magazine, and a month later I
was proofing my new business cards.

Now I'm a lifestyles editor for a consumer health magazine, but I never
would have gotten here without that first great job and the experience
I got there. Thank you, Ed!

After only three months of living in New York City and checking out the
whispers on Ed2010 religiously, I found a fit. An art internship was
available at a big deal women's magazine. After months of interning and
learning my way around the company I interviewed for a permanent
position as the photo assistant—my entry-level dream job. And I got it!
I am still there and enjoying the experience while thanking Ed daily
for helping me find my window of opportunity.

For all the folks outside of NYC that didn't major in journalism as an
undergrad and for those who completed their master's—here's a success

I landed an associate editor job for a trade magazine in August. And

I was just accepted to Random House’s Associates Program, and there is no way that I would have landed it without your countless tips and resources. I responded to an Ed2010 posting back in August for a job opening at
Philadelphia magazine for a copy editor. My application was one of more
than 100 received, and I'm happy to say that since mid-September, I
have been employed at Philly mag and am very happy. Thanks, Ed!
