Nautilus is a new science magazine that emphasizes the connections between the sciences, philosophy and culture. We are offering two paid research journalist internship positions beginning in January 2013, for a length of three months or longer. We are in New York City, nearby Times Square. We have an excellent crew – our editors had worked at Discover, Tablet, Nature, and our publisher had won two EMMY awards.
The successful candidates will research, analyze and report on the latest scientific developments and trends, and inform the editorial direction of the magazine. Sources will include scientific research and review journals, grant and paper calls, press releases, and conference reports. Other responsibilities will include writing and editing.
Candidates should have excellent communication and writing skills. Science background of any kind is a plus. The weekly time commitment is flexible, but must be between 10 and 40 hours; the pay is $8 an hour.
