Forbes' spring internship

Job/Internship type:
Unpaid Internship
Company/Publication Name:
Forbes
Location:
New York City
Description:

Forbes magazine is seeking editorial interns for the spring semester. You will join a robust staff that covers the world’s largest companies and the world’s wealthiest people. Opportunities to write exist, and eager staffers are encouraged to expand as much as possible. The internship also focuses on fact-checking, a way to learn how a writer constructs the stories that define Forbes. You will leave with first-hand experience about how a national magazine and website operates; in all, Forbes each month reaches more than 40 million people.

An applicant should have reporting and writing experience from past internships or their college publication. (Prior fact checking experience especially prized.) A background in business is not required, though an ability and willingness to embrace a wide range of subject matter—from entrepreneurism to investing—is essential. You must be able to receive college credit.

Scheduling is flexible. Some preference for those who are available on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Monday, days in which editors finalize their pages and fact checking is in full swing.

Forbes is located near Union Square in Manhattan.
