The Christian Century, the flagship magazine of the progressive mainline
Protestant church, is seeking an online editorial intern. Unpaid position
(a transit stipend is provided), 15-25 hours per week for 4-6 months, based
on availability. Downtown Chicago.
Requires: strong writing skills, proofreading ability and general computer
skills, interest in Christian life and public affairs. The ideal candidate
will offer several of the following:
- Familiarity and comfort with online culture (blogging, social
networking, etc.)
- Demonstrated talent for Web-based writing/blogging
- Knowledge of basic HTML
- Experience with Web content management systems
- Experience with archives management and optical character recognition
software
- A strong background in religious studies and/or public affairs
