Rodale, a leading health and wellness content company, is looking to hire a long-term freelance/temporary digital photo editor to join a nimble and motivated team of designers and editors in the launch and running of a new diet and fitness site. This person must possess a keen eye for quality photography and the ability to research and find creative image solutions for online editorial content.
Responsibilities:
-Research images by working with a number of stock agencies to evaluate and purchase images, track budget and build relationships with existing and new image providers
-Initially research and optimize a high volume of images for site launch, then provide daily site photo research to meet ongoing site photo needs
-Work closely with design and editorial staff to maintain standards of excellence for the editorial product
-Ensure that stock and assignment rates stay within approved guidelines
-Create engaging photo galleries for editorial use
Requirements:
-Digital experience researching stock for multiple online daily content needs
-At least 2 years of professional experience in the researching daily photo needs for online news or the magazine content field
-Must have experience with image manipulation and optimizing through Adobe Photoshop
-Microsoft Excel experience for tracking is a plus.
-Key wording and tagging is strongly preferred
-Candidate should be highly detail-oriented, well organized and possess good communication skills
-Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
