WhisperJobs™

StyleBistro Associate Editor

Job/Internship type:
Full-time
Company/Publication Name:
StyleBistro
Location:
New York, NY
Description:

About us:
We’re a fast-moving, well-funded start-up company that publishes two top-rated sites on the Internet: Zimbio.com (ranked #5 in entertainment news by comScore) and StyleBistro.com (#7 in fashion). Our business is simple: We blend original, in-house, licensed and freelanced content to form an overall informative and entertaining experience for the reader. Our New York office is a casual place where good ideas and strong opinions are pretty much mandatory.

About the job:
With a wide, sweeping range of duties, the Associate Editor is a crucial member of our editorial team. Though each of our editors have slightly different sets of responsibilities, this particular position requires a great deal of short form writing—mostly focusing on fashion, news, and celebrity style—as well as the creation of photo specials, games, some larger in-depth features from time to time, and general site maintenance.

About you:
You’re a blogger, writer, editor, social media and Internet junkie whose thirst for fashion and celebrity style news is seemingly unquenchable. You can easily identify celebrities, designers, models, and fashion industry folks in photos and rattle off what others may think is useless information (their last project, who they’re dating, the labels they’re wearing, etc.). You don’t mind tackling large projects while you already have a few small ones on your plate. You never miss an award show (the red carpet arrivals is your favorite part). You think it’s great to work hard and play hard and you live by the motto. When friends describe you, great sense of humor and extremely intelligent are usually phrases that come up first. You have a college degree and are passionate about working on the Internet.

If you’re interested and meet this criteria, we want to meet you. But so we can get to know you a little better right up front, please briefly answer these three questions and send them, along with a short cover letter and resume to editor.jobs@zimbio.com. And please put “Associate Editor” in the subject line.

Questions:
1. Whats are the three most compelling fashion-related things you’ve seen online in the last month and why? Send links.
2. Which celebrity’s style do you most admire and why?
3. Tell us an interesting story or anecdote about or related to fashion.
