UrbanDaddy Atlanta Editor

Job/Internship type:
Full-time
Company/Publication Name:
UrbanDaddy
Location:
Atlanta, GA
Description:

We are seeking a full time editor for the new Atlanta edition of UrbanDaddy.

UrbanDaddy is an email magazine geared towards men (think of DailyCandy with a GQ/Esquire sensibility) that’s now getting set to launch in Atlanta. The Atlanta edition will be comprised of a single story every day on something new/insider/useful/cool that would be relevant to guys who want to be on the cutting edge of what’s going on in town.

The Atlanta editor will be responsible for representing the UD brand in Atlanta – which means coming up with relevant ideas, setting the editorial calendar and producing a daily story that gives Atlantans what’s new, hot, exciting and essential related to: food, nightlife, style, gear, entertainment, cultural events and leisurely pursuits.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your own edition of a national daily email magazine, help expand a growing startup and develop a new property from scratch. You’ll also be working closely with the New York team that publishes daily covering nightlife, restaurants, style and entertainment in New York.

Requirements:

The right candidate will possess:
• Bachelor’s degree – Journalism or English preferred, but not required
• Over three years of experience at an established publication
• An undying love for Atlanta (specifically in the areas of food, nightlife and entertainment)
• A love (and knack) for sourcing interesting and ahead-of-the-curve content.
• A strong understanding of the UD voice and brand
• A sharp and witty sense of humor which shines through in writing
• The ability to inspire and manage others
• A desire to be involved with an entrepreneurial company
• Talent, plain and simple

We offer:
• Competitive compensation package and benefits
• Perks
• Unparalleled growth opportunities
