Health editor at a national women’s magazine seeks a research assistant/intern for her upcoming book project and the not-for-profit web site HealthyGirl.org. The book and site are focused on helping girls and young women who emotionally overeat or binge. YOU: exceptional research skills, very organized, good with deadlines, background in journalism or a solid understanding of journalistic ethics and concepts. (Ideally you’d also have some sort of personal or special interest in eating disorders, overeating or obesity.) ME: stressed out, but very nice, very clear with instructions—been told I’m a nice boss. :) Duties include doing research, moderating email and web forums, maintaining contact database, and possibly doing interviews and writing for the site. Other duties to be determined.
Candidates in New York, NY are preferred, but can telecommute from elsewhere.
Pay: Several hundred $$ stipend for six-month gig Dec. thru next May; 4 to 6 hours a week. Exact details will be discussed with interested candidates.
