Want to get your foot in the door in China-based journalism and writing, as
well as improve your Mandarin language skills? Map Magazine, the go-to
bilingual magazine in the Yangtze River Delta region between Nanjing and
Shanghai, is seeking a full-time English editor. Duties: conceiving and
writing original articles, working with freelance writers and translators,
translating editorial content and advertisements from Chinese to English,
copyediting, attending and comprehending editorial meetings, interviews and
press events in Chinese and English. The ideal candidate would be
energetic, creative, respectful and cooperative when working with Map’s
mostly Chinese staff.
Looking for native English speakers with experience in journalism and
proficient Mandarin. Preference given to candidates with prior experience
living in China. Preferred starting date: January 2010.
