Hampton Roads Magazine, the region’s only lifestyle magazine, is seeking
motivated and outgoing interns for the Editorial Department during the
spring semester. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
assembling the Datebook/calendar of events, managing press releases/story
pitches, acquiring images/art, general research and fact checking,
assisting in copy editing and proofing pages, helping with large-scale
projects and events and general administrative duties. There also may be
opportunity to write small and medium length pieces for the publication.
Ideal candidates are college sophomores, juniors or seniors seeking real
world experience in the magazine industry. Experience writing and editing
preferred. Internship is unpaid and dates/hours are flexible, although a
minimum of 16 hours/week is ideal.
