About.com is seeking a smart self-starter with excellent editorial skills
and judgment to fill the role of Cities and Towns Associate Editor at our
headquarters in New York City. Experience in an online publishing
environment required; working with freelance writers or independent
contractors is strongly preferred.
About.com’s editorial mission is to help provide practical solutions to
the everyday questions and problems faced by our millions of readers across
a wide variety of topics and interests. The primary responsibility is to
work with About.com Guides (freelance writers) and the editorial staff to
fulfill About.com’s editorial mission by improving content quality and
increasing audience retention and site growth. We will also look to this
person to help define and implement About.com’s editorial strategy as it
evolves.
