Do you listen to Dirty Projectors and know Reddit like the back of your hand? Do you Twitter about Matthew Barney? Do you RSS design, fashion, and art blogs? We need a social media intern for part-time writing, posting, and promoting articles on our international lifestyle internet magazine.
Intern must be able to successfully promote the site (the web presence of a nationally distributed print magazine currently undergoing retooling in prep for relaunch) through the use of social media and other syndication systems such as Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and Digg. Candidate will be fluent in English, working toward a BA or graduate degree in English, Liberal Arts, Journalism, Communications and the like. Candidate should have knowledge of CMS posting, typical blog practices, short-form article writing, and extensive knowledge of web metrics and best SEO practices. Ideally, the candidate will be familiar with the progressive, avant garde, or chic sides of art fashion, music, design, and world travel and be capable of writinginsightful copy on those subjects as well as identifying and pitching stories of their own. Extra points for “Diggers”.
The successful applicant will receive course credit where possible. This is a work-from-home part-time internship with a commitment of no less than 15 hours a week.
