944 Magazine is currently seeking a full-time copy editor to join our team at corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, Ariz. The ideal candidate will have strong copy editing, proofreading, InDesign and communication skills. Daily tasks require reading copy on-screen as well as on paper for grammar, punctuation, spelling and AP style. This position reports directly to the copy chief and will work with multiple editors to produce at least two of our local editions. Opportunities for contributing pieces to print and online edition are available.
Job Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English or related field
-Exceptional writing and editing skills
-Strong grasp of AP style
-Basic computer skills and working knowledge of InDesign
-Ability to organize multiple tasks
-A cool head amid deadline pressure
