PoliticsUnlocked.com is committed to reporting on the latest current events, providing our readers with intelligent, informed analysis of the political field. We strive to provide opinions from both ends of the political spectrum and engage readers that are both conservative and liberal.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Writers will be committed to contributing two stories per week. Writers are welcome to contribute their own ideas, or the editor can assign them. The pieces can serve as analysis, opinion pieces or reports on current events.

Responsibilities include:
· Generating story ideas and accepting assignments
· Uploading short (400-800 words) submissions into our content management system

REQUIREMENTS

o Previous editorial freelance experience, contributing to web or print publications
o Great communication skills: written, oral and analytical
o Ability to translate instructions into action
o Ability to meet deadlines and respond to edits in a timely fashion
o Ability to write articles in an informative but accessible voice
o Web and interactive content experience and know-how: blogging, editing, writing, internet production, etc.
o Degree in English, Journalism or Literature is preferred

COMPENSATION
Payment will be $20 per article and the position is freelance. A by-line will be included.
