Looking for well-versed, well-rounded editorial assistant who can handle
pressure with ease while multitasking. The ea should have contacts with
hospitality pr firms, know, understand, and love NYC nightlife and restos-
watches closings and openings like a hawk. Understands the difference
between a lounge and a dive. Knows who Daniel Boulud is, and why many
people think Avenue is overdone. The editorial assistant will create a
weekly newsletter for the nightlife section in addition to assigning
freelancers to cover openings. They’ll work to ensure that the reviews
are on time and are consistent with the publication’s voice. Other duties
included are top and copy-editing articles, assisting the Senior Editor
with content for the main site, assist in developing ideas for editorial
content, work with the marketing and sales departments, and overseeing
interns. This is a contract position.
