New Hope Media has an immediate three-month opening for a full-time, paid Web/Editorial Assistant, with the possibility of turning into a longer-term position. New Hope Media (www.newhopemedia.com) publishes two special-interest magazines: ADDitude (for people with attention-deficit disorder) and Adoptive Families (for families before and after adoption) and maintains related websites (www.additudemag.com and www.adoptivefamilies.com).
This position offers a great opportunity to master the writing and tagging of content for the Web. The Assistant will repurpose magazine content by creating checklists, resizing and tagging images, and rewriting heds and deks to incorporate search-friendly keywords, and upload content to the sites. The Assistant will also have the opportunity to work on editorial projects, including reviewing submissions, finding books and products of interest to readers, and editing reader-generated content, and contribute as needed on administrative projects. A minimum of two years experience writing and/or editing for the Web (preferred) and print required. Some knowledge of Quark and basic HTML a plus.
