Natural Health is looking for an unpaid intern in their New York City office to assist the health editor, beauty editor, and features editor. Tasks will include carrying out research projects, keeping tabs on breaking health-related news; and performing administrative tasks, including opening mail, filing press releases, xeroxing items, and mailing packages to writers and article sources. The intern will also be encouraged to take the initiative in discovering news, trends, and personalities in the worlds of health, green-living, and fitness. Editors will help interested interns develop their story-pitching skills, and will give them writing assignments (depending on editors’ needs). Interns can also sit in on the weekly staff meetings. Required time commitment: 40 hours a week for May – August 2008. The internship can be done for school credit, but credit is not mandatory.
