The Aperture Foundation is seeking editorial interns to assist the editors in both the book and the magazine departments.
Responsibilities include: picture/text research; contacting museums,
galleries, and artists to request artwork for reproduction; proofreading;
compiling copy for catalogs and book jackets; and registering copyrights.
A working grasp of the photographic field, excellent grammar and
communication skills, as well as prior editorial experience will enhance a
candidate’s application.
The program requires a 6 month or 12 month commitment, running from
January through June and/or from July through December. Please note that
full-time commitment is mandatory unless otherwise specified. Interns
receive $300/month and have the opportunity to take on evening/weekend
part-time work at an hourly rate in Aperture’s bookstore and gallery.)
College credit is available for this program.
