About.com is seeking a smart self-starter with excellent editorial
instincts and judgment to fill the role of Associate Health Editor at our
headquarters in New York City. Experience in an online publishing
environment is required. A background in health content (preferably online)
and experience working with freelance writers or independent contractors is
strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
-Build/maintain chunks of content for
-Conduct research for editors
-Line editing as needed
-Copy edit, proofing A list guides
-Monitor blogs
-Monitor for/handle false ads
-Maintenance of the health portion of the Lounge; answering questions on
the Health listserv
-Monitor the competition; make suggestions to editors for their guides
Candidate must have 2-3 years exp creating or managing online health
content and exp managing freelance writers. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
a must.
