ART IN AMERICA, a premier international art magazine, providing insightful critiques, scholarship and information covering the entire field of visual arts is looking or Spring 2008 Editorial interns. Duties include trafficking, proofreading, indexing, clipping and filing, library maintenance, photo research, correspondence, and phone work. A background in art history and/or studio practice is strongly recommended. Good language skills—both written and spoken—are essential. Interns will gain first-hand experience of magazine editorial operations. They will not, however, do direct editing or writing. ENGLISH AND JOURNALISM STUDENTS PREFERRED. This internship may qualify for academic credit. THIS IS A NON-PAYING INTERNSHIP. We offer a $4.00 stipend covering the cost of getting to and from our offices by subway. We prefer an intern who can work 2-3 days per week. Candidates should be able to devote at least sixteen hours per week on a regular schedule. Selections will be made after a personal interview. We are well aware of educational demands and remain receptive and flexible when working out schedules.
