People Magazine seeks a designer to work on special issues. The designer works closely with Art Director to create and design themed packages such as Oscars, World’s Most Beautiful and Sexiest Man Alive issues. Skills required: Minimum 1-3 years of directly related experience in publishing. Grounded in design fundamentals including excellent typography skills and color sense. Uses communication skills to influence decisions. Actively solicits feedback. Demonstrates attention to detail with work and process. Understands the importance of meeting deadlines. Is a great team player and possesses a solution-oriented attitude. Thrives in a highly collaborative, agile, fast-paced, exciting work environment. Bachelor’s Degree in design or equivalent experience. Expert-level knowledge of Quark, Photoshop and Illustrator. Knowledge of InDesign a plus.
