I had heard about Ed2010 while interning at Harper's Bazaar this past
summer, and ended up interning in the features department at CosmoGIRL!
this fall because of a whisper job.
I was graduating from NYU in December, and I hoped that once again, Ed
would be kind and hook me up. Everyday I would feverishly check my
newsletter for any job openings. EA positions were scarce, and my
future looked bleak. Then, I read another Ed Whisper about a health
assistant position opening up at Ladies' Home Journal. I was psyched. I
knew the mag had a new EIC and I had heard amazing things about the
changes taking place there. My interview went really well, but they
were looking for someone with more health experience. I was devastated.
About a month later I got a call from Ladies' Home Journal. They had
another EA position opening up, and this one was right up my
alley—assisting the Entertainment Editor and the Articles Director. I
interviewed and landed the job. I couldn't have picked a better place
to launch my editorial career.
