Meet Ed’s Esquire EIC Raffle Winner

Esquire EIC Raffle Winner.jpg

Editors from Vibe, T Magazine, MTV and other publications came together for Ed’s most recent happy hour on April 23 at Tavern on Third. It was an editor bash not to be missed, especially for Amelia Harnish, who won Ed’s editor-in-chief raffle to meet Esquire’s David Granger.

In an unpredictable time for print journalism, Esquire’s top editor continues to inspire whippersnappers with his commitment to print. Harnish, assistant editor of Ladies’ Home Journal, cheered with excitement when she heard her name called during the raffle drawing. “In all of my meetings [at work], an Esquire piece is often brought up as some form of inspiration,” Harnish says. “That David Granger refuses to give up on long-form print is refreshing!”

Harnish, a 2010 graduate of the University of Florida, adds that she’s most curious about what Granger’s day-to-day is like. “I can’t wait to talk to him about how much he edits these days,” she says. “And I want to know what his favorite Esquire story is. I’m hoping he agrees with me—mine is “Frank Sinatra Has a Cold.”

A big thanks to everyone who attended and bought raffle tickets for a great cause: All proceeds from the event go to the 2013 Trust Fund, which provides cash for living in N.Y.C. to unpaid interns each fall, spring and summer semesters. You’ve scored some major career karma in return, Ed just knows it.
