The Philly Ed2010 summer event was a blast! It turned out to be a good idea to throw it in the suburbs (at McKenzie Brew House in Malvern) because a completely different group of folks came out to this one than to the previous two held downtown. Seven people representing six titles made it out to this one – mostly editors, but also someone from the art department and one from the business department. The Philly Edsters ate and drank, talked about editorial style, and shared some office gossip! Juicy!
Every month or so we meet at a bar for happy hour to meet each other and swap job info, gossip, and tips. Happy Hours take place in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Des Moines, Toronto, Birmingham, Miami, Minneapolis, Washington, D.C., Tampa Bay, Louisville, Austin, Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Portland/Eugene. We’re looking for editors on staff at magazines in Indianapolis, St. Louis, San Francisco and several other cities to become Ed2010 City Chapter hosts. E-mail Emily@ed2010.com if you’re interested!
