However, I am getting a bit discouraged because I live in CA and would love to remain here and pursue my dreams of becoming a magazine editor. I know alot of the opportunities are in NY but does anyone know of more in CA?
Also, on the Hills I know one of the girls interned at Teen Vogue in LA, so is there a headquarters there??

Where are you located, L.A. County?
What I’d suggest first is to grab as many magazines on local newsstands as you can find and hang out at bookstores to catch names of any and all local magazines you can find, then peruse the masstheads to see if they have assistant editors, interns, etc. Then call each magazine up and ask if they are looking for any interns.
I know of BowTie Inc. in Orange County, and they hire paid interns every summer (I think they pay about $10/hr. and it might be full-time hours). There are several smaller niche publications in SoCal, it’s just a matter of finding them!

Sure in this time of crisis almost everyone is finding their own source of income or jobs. But it is not an easy task because you have to consider many factors in doing so. Such as the workplace and the skills that you can offer to the company you would want to work. There are a lot of saving money to do if you want to have a job.

If you read the post one more time sweetie you could easily see that I am not “starting at the hills”, I was asking in reference in one of the girls getting an intern in LA.
