When an internship listing requests your cover letter and resume to be sent via e-mail, is it generally better to put the cover letter in the body of the e-mail and then attach the resume OR to attach both? If you do attach both, what should go in the body - your availability?

I prefer it when interns paste their cover letter in the body of the email, and attach only the resume. It’s annoying to have to open multiple attachments.
