Sponsorship for Canadians in publishing

In two days I have an interview at Conde Nast. Although I’ve been interning at fashion publications and in PR for the past 6 months, my TN Visa expired a while ago so I cannot (legally) be paid.

I’m unsure if Conde Nast is aware of my citizenship. Does anyone know if they hire international candidates? And if so under what visa?

Finally, when is a good time to bring up my work eligibility?

unfortunately, they will not

unfortunately, they will not sponsor for entry level jobs. only editor level and up (or if you are a VIP hire, ie Graydon Carter’s cousin from Europe, etc).

from your resume/education, they might not be able to tell you’re not American…but they won’t sponsor you so I think it’s just best to tell them up front your immigration status…

if this is for internships, you still can’t work there, because HR requires assistants to submit interns’ SSN for the stipend payment…and if you don’t have a working one the assistant could get in trouble.
