Has anyone seen the two positions at Weight Watchers magazine posted on mediabistro? What do you think of the mag? Do you think it’d be more PR-type work (promoting the program) than a traditional mag?
They had two positions posted - associate and senior editor - but now one posting has vanished. Curious if that means the associate editor position has already been filled (so quick!)? Anyone know anyone who works there? It’s a super-small staff - just eager for any insight.

obviously the positions must
obviously the positions must be filled. it just takes a couple of days for a mag like weight watchers to get quality people on their board.

Heard someone just got the Fitness editor position at WW Mag. Who got the other position?

Actually, it’s just like any other health mag except you list the POINTS of the food too. The staff is super small now. There’s been a high turnover at Weight Watchers though, especially in those two editor positions.

I did pick it up and read it and I agree that most of the stories are similar to what you’d find in any health/fitness pub. Maybe I wasn’t clear enough in my earlier question, but what I’m most curious about is if y’all think editors at other titles sort of sniff at a mag that’s so tied to promoting a specific program. If you actually pick up and read the magazine, you’d see that it’s not some kind of promotional brochure for the program.
It’s just like all of your other health/fitness publications, but all of the “success stories” are people who lost the weight on Weight Watchers, and they include Points values for the recipes. That’s about the only difference.
