I recently relocated to that Atlanta area in hopes of starting a career in the event industry. I’ve always had a love and passion to work in the magazine industry. I wanted to know how can I or should I say do I go about trying to locate a complete list of Atlanta’s magazine.
My plan is to research each magazine and contact them in an effort to possibly volunteer during events…please help

You can do a lot of this
You can do a lot of this research yourself by searching on google, browsing magazines in the library/bookstore, and searching “Atlanta” on Ed2010 - that’ll bring up all the Atlanta-based magazines that have posted jobs and internships here in the past, which will give you some good leads.
Also, some people had a good idea a few pages back and started a list of Chicago-based magazines that they kept adding to: http://www.ed2010.com/boards/2009/06/magazines-chicago. Why not start the same thing in this thread with other Atlanta writers?
