Post-Interning Assignment

I am about to finish up an editorial internship with a national magazine. To receive the 6 academic credits for completing the internship, i must write a 3 page paper. Unfortunately, i have no idea what I’m to write this paper on exactly. I emailed my school’s dept. chair, but he just brushed off my question. Obviously, i am supposed to talk about what i did at the magazine, but is there anything specific i should include, perhaps in addition to the paper, copies of my pieces with the magazine? If anyone has had to complete a similar assignment please let me know how you did so. Thanks.

I’m sure what the assignment entails differs with each school (at my school, students have to write a 7-10 page paper to receive internship credit - who knows what they’re writing about!)

Because of the relatively short length of the paper, and my experience, I’d suggest making it something of a reflection piece. Who were you at the beginning of the internship and how have you grown? What did you learn? How does it compliment your chosen course of study or, more greatly, your overall education?

(In other words, you can probably BS your way through this and come out with a sparkly A).

Touch on your duties and what you’ve completed only if you’ve not had to hand in a log for what you’ve done weekly at your internship, too.

Hope this helps!
