Graphic design student in KANSAS(!?) on the internship hunt.

Hey guys! I’m new here, well, on the message boards anyway. I’m a (almost) senior studying graphic design in Wichita, Kansas. I’ve been kind of lost in the world of graphic design for a while now, just trying to figure out what the heck kind of design I really want to go into… when really it was just sitting there next to my computer in a huge stack. Ahhh…. editorial design.

Well, anyway. I have just recently realized that I need to get my butt in gear and start looking for those oh so helpful, and these days, necessary internships. But, a magazine design internship near or in Kansas?! Anyone out there have any suggestions? Anything you guys have to help a girl out would be amazing.

Also, I have seen a lot of students with portfolio blogs, or websites and stuff. How beneficial do you think having a blog/online portfolio is? Or what should I do to make myself more appealing to potential employers..?
