Uptown Literatti is seeking interns for our August re-launch. If you love books, then we are looking for you! Our new site will be targeted to young, urban bibliophiles between the ages of 21-36.
Writing Interns: You will be helping us to populate our existing blogspot site, and also our .com, when it is launched. We want good writers (it doesn’t matter what your major is or your past experience) who are familiar with blogging styles, love to read and are mean with the grammar and punctuation (i.e. require little to no editing). If you are interested, please send a 250-300 word review of your favorite book. Make it interesting, informative and clickable!
Design Interns: You will be helping us with graphic designs, including logo design and creating a new template for our site. We will be moving to WordPress, and then hosting our .com site through them, so any WordPress or web design experience is greatly appreciated! To apply, just send a few samples of your design work.
All interns must be current students, or recent graduates, reside in the Washington, D.C. area with access to a Metro station and the free time to work a few hours each week from home. We can’t pay you, but there may a free lunch or two throughout the course of your internship, and you’ll get to get in on the ground floor of a really cool Web site.
Plus, if you’re looking to get into the D.C. mag biz, both of the founders are full-time, junior-level editors that are happy to offer our 2 cents and contacts for your use.
