My interview was on Friday so that definitely wasn’t me that you saw today, but I agree that the position sounds awesome. It’s a lot more editorial work than I anticipated, which is awesome. I interviewed at the Knot a while back for a job (not in the edit dept)…they kept me up to date with interviews but then stopped communication, didnt respond to me and I saw the job reposted with slightly different requirements. BUT, this was in a completely different dept and I still believe it was an oversight since they were so communicative in the rest of the process.
But to share with you some things I wish I did a little different. The place is completely laid back. So be casual…not sloppy or in jeans, but dont go too fussy. I saw the head of the company in khaki shorts and a polo if that’s an indication. The overall company also seems to be impressed if you’ve done extensive research. It’s a fun website to go through anyway so make sure you browse all their sections and know what their “colleagues and competitors” are as well as the many different components of The Knot. It’s so much more than a wedding website. GOOD luck to all of you, it seemed like such a cool place to work and the people were totally nice.
I just heard back from Meredith at The Knot that they were not interested in bringing me in for an interview. I am disappointed, but also touched that she was kind enough to get back to me and let me know. Such a rare act of thoughtfulness.

I also applied and haven’t heard anything. Though the deadline was only yesterday so perhaps they have not yet begun sifting through what I imagine are hundreds of resumes…good luck to all who applied!
