I’m not totally positive how this whole thing works but I’m a junior at Michigan State and I had a fashion internship this summer at a magazine in Detroit. I gained tons of experience but I’m looking to move on to bigger things and plan to move to New York at the end of april for the summer.
If anyone has any suggestions or email contacts I would be so grateful to hear any advice I can find!

Calling All Fashionistas!!
Betsy Mullinix, Associate Sittings Editor for Seventeen Magazine, is looking for interns for the spring semester. You would need to be available for at least 2-3 days a week, but full time would be greatly appreciated. If you are dedicated, hardworking, and enthusiastic, we want you. Please send your resume and cover letter to Betsy Mullinix at bmullinix@hearst.com. Please note the internship is unpaid and you must receive school credit. Hours are generally 10am to 6pm. Previous internships are preferred but not required.
Your responsibilities would include the following:
Working on set at photo shoots:
When on location, you will have to assist Betsy in dressing the models and recording what they are wearing. You will be asked to help in the styling process. Be creative. Since Seventeen uses Real Girls for the shoots, it is your job to make the girls feel comfortable and have fun.
Daily Duties Include Assisting on the Following:
• Castings
• Photo Shoots
• Styling
• Fittings
• Sittings Sheets
Must be able to:
Work in a fast paced environment, be smart, think on your feet, be organized, have the “I can do anything” attitude and be willing to assist on set during weekend shoots.

Going to internship program is great to add more experience in your CV. Unfortunately it is hard to find one here. Students like me can only part time jobs in my country. Internet marketing

Cool.. I have never joined an internship program before, but I know you can get great experience from it. I just didn’t get the chance to since such programs are not common in my country, lol.. Good luck! If you miss this one, there must be many others you can apply for in the future.
