Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knew the process of Time, Inc.’s internship selection for the summer program? The application was due in November, and they say on their website that those selected will be notified in March. Is there anything in between there that they’re not mentioning? if anyone has had the privilege of having one of their internships, can you please fill me in on how it all happened?? Thanks!

I was in the Time Inc. internship program a few years ago. When I was accepted, they just sent a letter in the mail explaining my magazine placement and housing. And I had to respond to accept the internship. Good luck!

I did the program two
I did the program two summers in a row. The first time, I was at one of the larger flagship magazines - there I did mostly fact-checking and research. My 2nd time, I was at a smaller publication and got to do more writing, pitching, and other hands-on stuff. So I think your level of responsibility is tied to the size and culture of the magazine you’re placed at.
As for when you’ll hear back - the first year I heard in March. The second year, I received an email in December saying my application had gone to the second round, and then an email in January saying I got the internship.

I can’t provide any insight on what’s in between the deadline and the announcement, but I too applied for an internship with them and can only hope I get it! I applied for an editorial internship, though.
