Conde Nast (as a company, through HR) hires paid interns for the summer through the official program (generally, they choose 80 out of 6,000 or so). But the individual magazines hire unpaid interns as they please. So, really, there are 80 interns on the books and hundreds at separate magazines within the building.
I’m pretty sure Time Inc. is way earlier than February. In fact I feel like it’s the beginning of November. I’d definitely double check the date because the Time Inc. program is a really good one.
I think Time-Life may have changed to November. As for which I applied to, I tried for the bigs: Time, People, Entertainment Weekly (or maybe In Style…dont really remember). i got placed somewhere else, but there were sessions that allowed everyone to interact and learn about different companies and the publishing industry in general.

Can you only get an internship with Conde Nast and its publications through their formal program or is that just one of the internships that are offered?
No one will be thinking about summer interns until at least spring of next year. I wouldn’t bother sending in your application before March. Obviously certain formal programs like Conde Nast’s, ASME, or others may have their own specific deadlines, which you can find on the program’s website, but in general it’s wayyyy too early to start thinking about it now.
I think we should start an informal list of programs that DO have deadlines before the spring… Conde Nast, ASME, and others should definitely be on the list.
(I am hoping for a big internship next summer and am thinking far ahead in advance, too, but want time to prepare.)
