Google sites lets you create an online portfolio very easily AND you an upload pdfs. Some sites won’t let you or it’s a huge pain in the monitor. Check out Google sites.

Soupfaerie, I knew it wasn’t you because you’ve got your email addy in your post.
We all get emails from our writing; I’ve gotten hate mail from writing Op Eds and features, so don’t feel bad. Think of it this way, when people send you emails it means that they’re read your stuff, so it’s a good thing. It means that what you’ve written has impacted people. In the end, we want to effect people with our writing; whether or not they agree with what you’ve written, an email proves that (a) they read it and (b) more importantly, it made them think.
So you did a good job.
