I think it would be helpful if you told us what you have written so far.
Even if you have written something non-related to fashion can help. Because it shows you have a broad range of writing talent & many fashion magazines not only focus on fashion but on other topics that are relateable, this is used as a way to bring more readers to the magazine who are also interested in other topics.
Something that might be helpful, is place your clips in a portfolio or thin binder with clear plastic covers to slip your work in. That makes for an excellent/impressive presentation. Do you draw anything related to fashion because you can include that into your portfolio, sort of like an extra item to show your interviewer. Because when the person asks for what kinds of experience you have, don’t be afraid to mention other media. This shows you really know what fashion is from a creative point of view. If you don’t, that is no big deal. Just do your best & relax :) Good Luck….
