Choosing a web internship

Hi everyone :)

I’ll try to keep this short - I wanted to explore the online area of editorial in an internship this fall, and I’m having trouble deciding which to choose. One would be mostly pitching and writing some short articles and helping with day-to-day occurences with a website that is its own entity. The other would have much less of an opportunity to write, is the website for a large magazine, and would afford me the chance to learn some content mananging and other software a website would use.

Which would you choose? If it helps, I write actively for my school newspaper, have clips from a local paper I interned at, and interned ar a magazine this past summer, mostly fact-checking.

Which internship would have greater name recognition on your resume? If you really can’t decide based on your potential duties, this might be the question to ask yourself.

Sorry for the bump, but I’m still a little hesitant and unsure

In my experience...

You get to do a ton of writing at magazine websites, so don’t rule that one out for that reason. At both of my web internships at major magazines, interns were actually required to write. Either one sounds like a great experience though.

Thanks! I would like either

Thanks! I would like either internship, but am thinking I might prefer the one at the magazine. However, I feel like gaining clips is really important and I’m not sure if my school paper and local paper experience is enough.

I really appreciate your help and would love to hear what everyone else has to say!
