Hello!
I have recently graduated from a Fashion Studies degree in England, and I have been applying for jobs and internships since January. I have already completed various work experience positions through my summer holidays at uni. The internships have all varied, but all fashion related. Such as interning for a high profiled magazine, working in the press office for a luxury brand, as well as a Fashion pr agency. I thoroughly enjoyed working at the magazine and it is where I see a definite career for myself.
In an ideal world I would land a job as Editorial assistant / Fashion Assistant for a magazine, but it is proving to be much more difficult to come by than I ever anticipated. I have phoned magazines asking if any of these positions were available, and there are none.
What is your advice?
Does any one know of any internships or ditorial assistant / Fashion Assistant positions avaliable in London?
I would ideally like it to be in London, but I am willing to move where ever in the world there is a job or internship, as this is something I want so much.

fashion and editorial assistant positions are few and far between trust me i know i’ve been interning for a long time i’ve had a fair few paid positions but i’ve had to stick it out for months on end waiting for someone else to get pregnant of get fired !. your best bet is to narrow down you search pick a few magazine’s you’d like to work for and concentrate on doing an internship there send letters / emails stalk if you have to always good to try and apply just before fashion weeks or just after and people always need an extra pair of hands around those times, once your there make yourself indispensable it usually pays off. If i was you i’d go for a big company like conde nast as they pay travel/ lunch expenses so you wont be completley broke.
