My resume is very web-heavy since I was an EA at a major magazine website and have held internships at well-known websites. My magazine experience is only at smaller trade publications. Could this be the reason why I don’t get called for interviews for print positions? I have a great portolio full of clips as well!

If your job was at a website, and your internships were at websites, then why not focus your job search on online editorial jobs? There are more jobs available, they pay better and will likely allow you quicker advancement than magazine jobs would anyway.

i mean i guess, but i would think people would really appreciate the web on your resume b/c its taking over the world right now! maybe try to rework your cover letter, and also try to emphasize that you still did alot of the things EA’s do for print…the writing, events, etc?
