I interned there back in the day, and the internship coordinator was always the managing editor’s assistant. Find an EA in the masthead, call the magazine and ask to speak with them and find out who’s handling applications. The ME’s assistant will likely be the EA without any bylines in the front of the book (that job is more administrative). Forget the summer unless you’ve got a connection, but fall and spring are more accessible. Don’t expect to end up like Toure or Cameron Crowe, though — those days are long gone. The only things you’ll be writing are the cover sheets for news packets. But the mag still has that unique brand recognition, which always seems to impress editors and HR staffers a little bit. Good luck.

I think

I read that they list them on Mediabistro.com. I checked the other day, though, and there weren’t any positions posted. Leemb128

I would just send an inquiry

I would just send an inquiry to the Letters to the Editor address. That’s what I recently did for Revolver and the managing editor sent me the name and mailing address of the person who I should send my resume to (unfortunately they’re not looking to hire right now according the the managing editor).

Good luck, from what I’ve

Good luck, from what I’ve heard many apps get tossed out without being reviewed due to the high volume and all of the interns got in because they knew someone who knew someone. I wouldn’t let that discourage you though, just follow up and cross your fingers!
