NYC Fall Intern Housing

I guess this may be a weird question, since most fall interns already go to school in New York. But I’m thinking about getting a fall internship in the city, and I was wondering what are the best housing options that last from late August/early September to the end of December? Should I try to find a sublet? I did some searching on google, but most universities only offer summer intern housing. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Also, I graduated in May and I would also consider moving to NY permanently starting in early September, so if anyone is looking for a roommate and is thinking about moving to NYC, let me know and I’d love to talk to you!

I’m from Philly…I have an internship in NYC but I’ve been commuting. I know if I get a fall internship I’d have to relocate, though, because I don’t think I can deal with such a long commute for another semester! What about you? Are you jobhunting, or are you looking for an internship?

Wow, how long is that commute!?!
I guess I’d be job hunting, but would still be open for internships. I love it here in So Cal but I’m just not in the right state for magazine jobs (we flourish in TV and movies). Gotta follow my dream!

my internship is at Hachette Filipacchi…i work on the website for their shelter mags. As far as the commute goes, it’s nearly two hours each way…yikes, I know! What kind of mags are you thinking about applying at?

I was planning to move then

I was planning to move then look (that extra plane ticket could be used toward rent) and either stay in some kind of temporary housing (like a hostel, I guess), or beg my aunt in NJ to let me crash in her basement until I can find an apartment.
