I was wondering how much a Fashion stylist is paid for a New York Fashion publication or lifestyle publication? are they paid per pages or per day of work? do they also do all the samples request when they work as a freelance stylist for a magazine? Did anyone have worked yet for Zink Magazine as a stylist? and what can you tell me about their working ethic?

you get paid a day rate for most mags. i have worked at tiny mags like zink that pay little or nothing and i now work at a large consumer mag that pays 500/day. it depends on the mag whether you will have to do market work. at smaller mags, you usually do, but at larger mags, the market eds call in the clothing and then the stylists just style on set (steam clothing, pin, etc) and return the clothing to the closet afterwards.
