I’m kinda confused about what the Time Inc. Internship program stipend consist of? Is a stipend to pay for the housing in New York or do you have to get housing in New York before applying for the internship and they give you this stipend to pay for it? Can someone please explain this to me?

Are you talking about the Time Inc Edits program? When I did it they offered two options: they’ll either house you in Columbia (they’ll arrange once you accept the internship and tell them that you want to go that route) OR if you already live in NY or don’t want to live in the dorms they’ll give you a stipened so that you can find your own housing.

In the past, they paid for us to say in Columbia’s dorm for the whole summer (we only had to pay for extra things like meal plans or cable access). To me that option made more sense because I believe the stipened was around $1K which is hardly enough to live in NY for the summer. Just a heads up: I did this program a few years back so you might want to call HR to get teh most updated info.
