It’s usually a mix of people looking for jobs and people who already have jobs. I’ve met some cool editors I’ve stayed in touch with. The happy hours are really low-key, not formalized at all. But if you’re by yourself, I’ve seen the people who work for Ed2010 (I think they have name tags), talk to you and introduce you to other people. I’m actually going to go tonight since I haven’t been to one in a while and some of my friends are going. We’re all mid-level eds.
