Okay so I applied to a magazine and they followed up asking if I was available for an interview at a certain time and date. I responded that I was available and would gladly come by their offices for an interview. I heard no response from them, and e-mailed them with a follow up letting them know that I was confirming our appointment. 3 days later.. and still no follow - up? Does this mean I should forget about the “scheduled” interview or should I do another follow - up? It doesn’t make sense to me. Has this happened to any one else and what would you recommend??! The date is coming very close !
Just go! Is it a huge pain
Just go! Is it a huge pain for you to get to the interview? This exact situation happened to me. I just showed up at the company at the time they had asked about and said I had an appointment. I went in, had my interview, and they called me the next day offering me the internship.
Even if you get there and they’re like, “you have no appointment,” there is a good chance that they will see how dedicated you were to come all the way down and hopefully still talk to you.
Good luck!
Call the magazine’s main
Call the magazine’s main line and request to speak to the person you were corresponding with. Simply say you were hoping to confirm your interview appointment for the date and time, or you’d be happy to reschedule. That’s the most direct way (and voicemails are harder to ignore than emails).
