Name Dropping and Nepotism

I’ve been interested in applying to an internship in Sunset Magazine’s Food department for a long time. My aunt works at the magazine and last year, she helped me set up an informational meeting with the Food Editor. However, Sunset, as a part of the Time-Warner corporation, has a strict policy against nepotism. So, as I’m writing my cover letter, I’m wondering if I should remind this editor that we’ve met, or pray to God she doesn’t remember me (or overlooks that she does). What should I do? Am I sunk?

You have met the editor. Why

You have met the editor. Why not mention in your cover letter that you enjoying meeting him/her and briefly discuss your conversation about the department? Your aunt doesn’t need to be brought up at all.
