I’m an EA at a home decor/shelter magazine. What I really wanted to work in was beauty editorial but I landed a great job and wanted to give home decor a try too. I do some freelance writing for a website for its beauty section on the side. I was just wondering if I ever wanted to get into beauty would it be a hard transition for me since I’m an EA at a home decor mag? Will my freelance beauty experience be helpful im making the transition?

I’m in a similar position as you, and I think that freelancing will definitely help. Also your educational and internship background will really help when explaining to interviewers why you want to make that transition, etc.
