Ed's New Job Posting Guidelines

Ed has an announcement to make: As of this very moment, he is now charging employers to post unpaid internships on the site. (Paid jobs and paid internships will continue to be free.) Ed’s decided after living through this hellish recession that has hit the magazine industry so hard, he is a socialist.

Ed hopes that this new policy will allow him to give out his $1200 Trust Fund scholarship to at least one deserving unpaid magazine intern every semester. (Wouldn’t it be great if he could give out two?) Ed couldn’t even give one this semester because his funds were too low. And that makes him very very sad. So Ed has decided to apply a tax to post unpaid internships on his site.

Please note that Ed’s tax is nothing like France’s — he’s only charging $20 per job posting (and an additional $10 for tweeting it to our 14,000 followers). Other job posting sites charge a minimum of $279 a post! So Ed thinks his tax is a reasonable one.

Here’s to helping more whippersnappers — especially unpaid interns!
